My Own Health Story

Hello! this is me, Edith... thanks for dropping by!

Hi There! Thanks for taking the time to read my story,

Sharing one's own personal health story is not an easy task, especially for those of us who would rather just get on with it and not "dwell" on it all. However, that is not necessarily the healthiest option... in the words of one of my closest friends "What You Resist, Persists", I couldn't agree more. Just think about that for a moment and it will make sense. By resisting to acknowledge something unpleasant in your life, doesn't make it go away, does it? Unfortunate as it may be, we can only help those who are ready to embrace the idea of helping themselves.

I was unfortunate enough to have a multitude of health issues throughout my life. I had endured a couple of life-threatening illnesses as a small child (meningitis and later encephalitis), however my adult health challenges began to manifest somewhere in my mid 20's. It all started with hormone imbalance which became almost uncontrollable. I then developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome after having Glandular Fever (Epstein-Barr Virus). Simultaneously, a multitude of other health issues developed including severe joint inflammation, food intolerances, digestive problems, muscle contractions, Menieres Syndrome and Anxiety all with their own plethora of highly uncomfortable and often painful symptoms.

At one stage I could hardly walk from one room to another, and I was just barely out of my 20's!  It all became quite unbearable, my body ached all the time, the brainfog became too much and life in general seemed too hard. Many of the healthcare professionals I saw either shrugged their shoulders or rudely suggested it was all psychosomatic (all in my head!). This was just not good enough. Having 2 young children at the time, I had no choice but to try and find ways to rebuild my own health as I wasn't ready to give up just yet!

I'm happy to say that most of those health issues are now history. I say 'most' because the chronic fatigue never really leaves you 100%. It does get better though, especially with the use of a number of natural health remedies and supplements. I was eventually able to return to the workforce and now live mostly pain-free. It has been an amazing journey, to say the least.

Realising there are hundreds of thousands of people around the world with numerous health challenges who are also looking for ways to help themselves or their loved ones, I went about setting up this website in the hope I could, at least, be a catalyst in their recovery. The most obvious way of doing that is to share the information I have gathered over the years, and encourage others to share their findings as well.

Trust me you are not alone with whatever health issue you have.

May your journey lead you to health and success!

Warm Regards,

Edith Leigh
