Cholesterol which does not dissolve
in our blood is transported using carriers called
lipoproteins. There are high density lipoproteins
(HDL) and low density lipoproteins (LDL). The LDL
cholesterol is considered to be bad; when the
concentration of the LDL cholesterol is high it
starts forming thick, hard plaques on the inner
walls of the arteries that carry blood to the heart
